Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini High Civil Court adjourned the case of dissolving Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, the largest society in Bahrain, on Monday (July 4, 2016) to July 11 after the defence panel decided to withdraw from the case.
During today's session, the state representative asked the judge to adjourn the case: "We ask you to adjourn the case and not take the defense panel's withdrawal into account, as the case is ready for adjudication."
Al-Wefaq's defence panel withdrew from the case protesting against denying them access to the society's offices.
The high civil court responded for the second time to the request of the Minister of Justice to expedite the case of dissolving Al-Wefaq and liquidating its funds and adding them to the state's treasury. The court was supposed to look into Al-Wefaq's case on September 4, 2016, i.e. after the judicial vacation, however, the case was expedited to June 28, 2016.
