Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Public Prosecution decided to detain Taiba Ismail for one week pending investigation, over charges of "inciting hatred against the regime" raised by the authorities against her, according to a number of human rights activists.
The authorities arrested Ismail in the early hours of Sunday (June 26, 2016) after raiding her house in Karbabad over charges linked to freedoms of opinion and expression, and then referred her to the Public Prosecution today.
In the past two weeks, the Bahraini regime has intensified its campaign against the opposition represented by country's Shiite majority in a string of arbitrary measures; closing down Al-Wefaq society, the island kingdom's main opposition group, suspending the two religious Islamic Enlightenment (Tawiya) and Al-Risala societies, and stripping the Shia spiritual leader Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim's of his citizenship.
