Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini children held at Dry Dock Prison said in a statement issued from prison that they are being subjected to torture by the security authorities in charge, calling for urgent action to put an end to these abuses.
The statement is as follows:
We, prisoners of cell-block 6 in Dry Dock Prison specialized for children from 15 to 18 years old, call on all the local and international human rights societies to save us from the brutality of the prison's administration that tortured us, searched us in a degrading manner, and severely beat two of our brothers after transferring them to solitary confinement and prevented us from contacting anybody outside the prison.
The administration took all the abovementioned arbitrary measures after a policemen assaulted and insulted one of the prisoners following the special period dedicated for practicing sports, which led another prisoner to drag him [the first prisoner] away and save him from being beaten more.
We also announce that these arbitrary measures have been repeated several times in different cell-blocks in Dry Dock Prison and they have been intensified during the last week. We hope that our statement grabs your attention and motivates you to take urgent act to stop these violations and save us from the brutality of the prison's administration.
