Bahrain Detains Poet for 7 Days Pending Investigation over Participation in Speech Festival

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini authorities arrested on Sunday (April 24, 2016) poet Abdulhussein Salman over taking part in an opposition oratorical festival held on Saturday (April 23, 2016).
Salman joined the festival which took place in Sheikh Ahmad Mosque in the village of Nuwaidrat, where the participants strongly criticized the Bahraini army for issuing a statement, in which it stressed that it stands ready to back the police in confronting protestors.
The Public Prosecution decided to detain poet Abdulhussein for 7 days pending investigation, but released the head of the mosque's administration after interrogating him for hours.
