Bahrain Mirror: Lawyer Mohammad Al-Jishi posted on his personal Twitter account on Thursday (April 21, 2016) that the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued a royal pardon, releasing detainee Tagi Al-Maidan, who holds the American passport and is sentenced to 10 years in prison.
This pardon coincides with US President Barack Obama's meeting with the GCC leaders in the Saudi capital, Al-Riyadh.
It is noteworthy that Al-Maidan was sentenced on September 24, 2013 to 10 years in prison after a Bahraini court convicted him of taking part in an assembly and riot, acquiring Molotov cocktails and burning an armored vehicle owned by the Ministry of Interior.
