Bahrain Information Affairs Authority Sends Warning to Al-Wasat Newspaper

Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Wasat newspaper, that has close ties with the opposition, published a letter it had received from the Bahrain Information Affairs Authority including a warning to the newspaper over an article written by Hani Al-Fardan, entitled "And It Will Never Approve of You", published last Saturday (August 1, 2015) in which Al-Fardan talked about people affiliated to the authorities who attempt to doubt and accuse some opposition media and political figures of treason.
The warning of the Bahrain Information Affairs Authority read:
With reference to the column of the writer Hani Al-Fardan, entitled "And It Will Never Approve of You", published in Al-Wasat newspaper on Saturday (August 1, 2015), number 4711.
We inform you that the column contained false information that is considered a violation to the Decree-Law No. 47 of 2002 on the Organisation of the Press, Printing and Publishing, thus the Bahrain Information Affairs Authority sends this warning to your newspaper pursuant to Article 84 of the decree, stressing on the necessity to publish it in the first publication after receiving this warning, as stipulated in the aforementioned article.
The Bahrain Information Affairs Authority wishes that your newspaper adheres to accuracy in the light of freedom of journalism and expression guaranteed by the constitution and governed by Decree-Law No. 47 of 2002 on the Organization of the Press, Printing and Publishing, for the growth and development of society with enlightening information and everything related to the interest of this country and all its citizens.
