Bahrain’s Public Security Chief: Providing Security is the Interior Ministry’s Duty & Citizens Must Follow the Rules

Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al-Hassan stressed (June 11, 2015) that enforcing the law and arresting the perpetrators of crimes is the sole responsibility of security forces, as per the law. Al-Hassan's
comments came a few hours after Bahrain senior clerics issued a statement in which they highlighted the role of worshipers in protecting their mosques.
"The Police's duty is to provide protection for all public properties, and safety for all citizens and residents, at anyplace and under any circumstance, as outlined in the Code of Criminal Procedures, which specifies the procedures and grants them the authority," Al-Hassan added.
The Public Security Chief further stated that the ministry of interior has taken precautionary measures, also stressing on the cooperation of citizens with police officers by following the announced instructions and rules, towards a framework for achieving security comprehensively. He also explained that it's part of the interior ministry's determination to bolster effective community partnership among all factions of Bahraini society
