Bahrain Mirror: The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders, Mary Lawlor, expressed concern about the fate of arbitrarily detained individual in Bahrain, Hashem Al Wadaei.
Lawlor stated in a post on the formerly Twitter "X" platform on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, she had received disturbing reports indicating that university student Hashem Al Wadaei, son of Bahraini human rights defender Hajar Mansoor, has been arbitrarily arrested and subjected to ill-treatment on apparently fabricated charges as retaliation against his mother's peaceful activism.
