Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Asalah Islamic Society and and Al-Menbar Islamic Society called for the suspension of New Year's celebrations "out of respect for the terror, destruction and killing suffered by our brothers and people in the Gaza Strip."
The two societies said in a joint statement: "It is not appropriate in any way for us to ignore and let our brothers down and enjoy unnecessary celebrations as if we are not aware of the murdering of the children, women, the elderly and youths, in a gloomy and bloody scene that history has never witnessed."
"This is the least that should be done, especially since there are non-Muslims and even Christians who canceled New Year's celebrations out of respect for the suffering of the people of Gaza," they noted.
