Al-Doy Majlis in Bahrain Apologizes for "Normalization Cake"

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Al-Doy Majlis apologized for hosting a "gathering for religious tolerance" in Muharraq in 2020, which hosted Jewish figures and included cutting a "peace cake", stressing that the gathering does not represent our "firm and real position in support of the Palestinian cause."

Ahmed Al-Doy, who is in charge of the Council, said in a letter of apology read on behalf of his uncle Ibrahim Al-Doy, the owner of the council: "We apologize if you have received footage of past scenes in which people were told that they were of a "gathering for tolerance of religions" but they were not," stressing that "they do not reflect our firm and real position towards the Palestinian cause, especially Uncle Ibrahim bin Yusuf Al-Doy."

He went on to say that their firm and real position towards the Palestinian cause "is what you see and hear here from the oldest to the youngest of us, which is supporting the Palestinian resistance and rejecting normalization with the occupying entity."

He expressed the Majlis' "great praise and unlimited support for the Palestinian resistance in its just struggle for freedom and justice through the recent "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation", adding that "We are fully aware of the challenges faced by the resistance in the face of the Zionist occupation, including killing, harassment and humiliation of the proud Palestinian people."

Addressing the Palestinians, he said "We affirm that we stand by your side in solidarity with you with all our strength until the promised victory is achieved."

"We, the people of Bahrain, are all with you and categorically reject every statement that undermines the "Al-Aqsa flood" operation. Whoever issued these statements does not know the meaning of freedom that our brothers in Palestine breathe when they destroyed the Zionist enemy army with conventional weapons made by free people who have always sought to achieve the victory we have seen."

He called for "ending injustice and the Zionist occupation of Palestinian territories and achieving peace and justice in Arab Palestine."

It is worth mentioning that the Majlis hosted a "gathering for religious tolerance" in Muharraq, on Thursday, September 24, 2020, attended by figures from the Al-Doy Majlis and other Jews, after the Bahraini regime signed an agreement to fully normalize relations with the occupation entity. The gathering included cutting a "peace cake" on which the flags of the occupation entity and Bahrain were drawn along with "Peace" word and a photo of a heart, resembling "Love".
