Bahrain Mirror: A former political detainee said that the prison administration made medical tests for about 53 detainees as an introduction to release them under the alternative penalty act.
Al-Ghanimi, a former prisoner of conscience who was detained for 10 years, wrote via his Twitter account "It was now confirmed that a group of prisoners underwent medical examinations as an introduction for their conditional release, under alternative penalty."
Al-Ghanimi mentioned the names of the 53 detainees.
It is to note that Sayed Abdullah Al-Ghuraifi, who recently visited the king, said in response to a question about whether he had a word of guidance for the detainees, "I honestly stated that we don't wish anyone to stay in prison, we want to see our children among their parents and loved ones. Prisons are an abnormal place, we hope they go out and live among their families. We have a big trust in God and hopefully you see your loved ones among you."
