Bahrain Mirror: Indian media outlets reported that a lawsuit was filed by the Indian authorities against seven individuals, including a former resident in Bahrain known as Mohammed Amin, on charges of joining the Islamic State (IS), the Bahraini Gulf Daily News newspaper stated.
A former Bahrain resident is being investigated by the Indian authorities for allegedly running an Islamic State (IS) module that aimed to recruit and radicalize individuals through social media platforms.
The Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday raided five locations - three in Indian union territory, Jammu and Kashmir and two in Karnataka - as part of a high-level probe.
Mohammed Amin, known as Abi Yahya, from Kerala, was charged on multiple charges from the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities Act.
Reports mentioned two other defendants Mushab Anuvar and Rahees Rashid, but did not name the rest four.
News reported that Mohammed Amin, who returned to India from Bahrain, following the fall of the ISIS caliphate in Syria and Iraq, aimed at forming a local cell by recruiting young volunteers from Jammu, Kashmir and Karnataka. He stayed in New Delhi for two months before being arrested last March.
