Court Issues Jail Terms Ranging between 3 and 10 Years against 11 Detainees

Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court issued today (Thursday, July 11, 2019) jail terms ranging between 3 and 10 years against 11 citizens over political charges.
The Fourth High Criminal Court sentenced 5 defendants to 10 years in jail and fined each of them BD 100,000 and sentenced 2 defendants to 5 years in jail. It also issued 3-year jail term against 3 defendants and fined each of them BD 100.000 and issued 3-year jail term against the last one.
"The High Criminal Court today convicted eleven Bahrainis for establishing a terrorist group, illegal handling, possession and use of weapons and explosives as well as committing acts of terrorism," Ahmed Al Hammadi, Chief of Terror Crime Prosecution, said.
He added "Five defendants were sentenced to ten years and fined BD100,000 each. Two were sentenced to five years. Three were sentenced to three years and fined BD100,000 each. Another was sentenced to three years. The court confiscated all the seized materials. Five others were acquitted by the court."
