Al-Wefaq: Targeting Al-Wadaei’s Relative is Retaliation against his Peaceful HR Activism

Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society condemned on Wednesday (February 27, 2019) the regime's unjustified escalation in the trial of the family of Bahraini activist Sayed Ahmad Al-Wadaei and issuing political vindictive sentences against them in retaliation for his peaceful and legitimate human rights activity.
It said that as a result of the huge failure in silencing activists and the desperate attempts to hide violations by targeting activists and as a result of repeated failures, the regime has resorted to punishing the families of activists and prosecuting them through the judicial authority that is completely subordinate to the security authorities, which makes it lack any level of independence, impartiality and objectivity.
The society confirmed that what has been done against activists and their families, including targeting their safety, intimidating them, threatening and tempting them, and targeting their livelihood and all their elements of life, are irrefutable proofs that the regime has committed the most horrible crimes, violations and abuses.
Al-Wefaq found that using the judiciary to carry out this dangerous role, which directly affects the absence of justice in favor of tyranny and domination, certainly proves the absence of the state, authorities and institutions that have become a thing of the past in Bahrain.
