Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society issued a statement marking the Bahraini Women's Day in which it said that "the Bahraini regime has carried out 990 arrests of Bahraini women since the start of the popular movement demanding freedom, democracy and social justice."

Al-Wefaq further stressed that women in Bahrain suffer from the most severe injustice, cruelty and targeting by the authorities by exposing them to arrests and brutal torture, and spreading fear and terror through a wide range of severe intimidation measures that have recently increased.

"The regime forces raided the house of a Bahraini family and arrested three sisters, Fatima, Iman and Amal Ali from the area of Duraz two days ago at midnight, surpassing all values and ethics and the privacy of women," the statement read.

On the other hand, the regime's courts issued prison sentences against a husband and wife and revoked their citizenships, leaving their two young children to the unknown.

This reflects the scale of targeting and crimes committed by the regime against women's rights in Bahrain.

The society saluted all Bahraini women with different positions, without exception, housewives, employees and students, saying that "the Bahraini woman is an excellent and advanced model in terms of her role, activism, movement, awareness and generous contributions to the nation, society and family."
