Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected the statement issued by the Government of Qatar which condemned mentioning its name in the "Spy Case" in which opposition leader, Sheikh Ali Salman, is accused and sentenced to life in jail.
The Bahraini ministry accused Qatar of "interfering and abusing the integrity and independence of the judicial authority of the Kingdom", saying that the Qatari calls are rejected and come "as part of the Qatari strategy to distract the public opinion from the isolation it chose for itself and therefore harmed its brotherly people."
Bahrain accused Qatar of being an "element of instability and source for tension in the region through its different forms of support for violence, extremism and terrorism, as well as its interference in the internal affairs of other countries in disregard of international law, principles and good neighborliness and mutual respect for other countries' sovereignty and independence."
It is to note that the appeals court issued on Sunday (November 4, 2018) life term sentence against opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman and handed down, in absentia, a life jail term to Al-Wefaq 2 leaders Sheikh Hasan Sultan and Ali Al-Aswad.
