Government will Open Doors to Private Companies to Invest in Electricity

Bahrain Mirror: Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Abdulhussain Mirza confirmed that the government will invite the private sector to invest in electricity, in a framework of plan for renewable energy.
The minister said that he will allow the companies to "construct, operate and maintain equipment and sell produced electricity to Government through what is called the feed-in-rate. This initiative will be implemented on several phases and the first phase will begin by the end of 2018."
The Minister said that the electricity and water authority started receiving some requests and inquiries from subscribers to produce solar energy in their homes.
