Bahrain Mirror: A documentary aired on Al-Jazeera TV on the failed coup d'etat against the Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, revealed that Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (then crown prince) planned to carry out bombings.
The program that aired the documentary showed that Hamad bin Isa was involved in supporting and financing subversive operations inside Qatar after the failed coup attempt against the ruling regime in 1996.
Fahd Al-Maliki said Hamad bin Isa had asked the coup leaders to carry out bombings in a number of locations in the Qatari capital Doha including the airport, claiming that the opposition in Bahrain was carrying out bombings.
A testimony broadcast during the program stressed that what is hidden is worse, adding that
Hamad bin Isa granted a Qatari coup leader a diplomatic passport and asked the coup leaders to form a national Qatari opposition.
