Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Shura Council, which is appointed by the King, rejected a decision by the House of Representatives concerning a bill amending Article 11 of Decree-Law No. 16 of 2002, regarding the Office of Financial and Administrative Control (Audit Bureau).
The bill, in addition to the preamble, consists of two articles. The first article states replacing the text of Article (11) of Decree-Law No. (16) of 2002 regarding the Office of Financial and Administrative Control with a text obligating the Office to refer any violation involving a criminal offense to the Public Prosecution without prejudice to any disciplinary responsibility, so referral to the Public Prosecution after the proposed amendment would be obligatory after it was permissive in the previous text to be amended, while the second article would be executive.
The decision of the Shura Council ended with non-approval of the bill in principle, while the decision of the House of Representatives approved it after its amendment.
