Two and Three-Year Prison Terms Handed down to Seven Accused of “Assembling” in Bilad Al-Qadeem

Bahrain Mirror: The fourth high criminal court sentenced five defendants to three years' imprisonment and two others to two years, over charges of taking part in an assembly and setting fire to tires in the Bilad Al-Qadeem area.

The Public Prosecutor's Office stated that the defendants on October 18, 2016:

Firstly, they intentionally set fire to tires, which would have endangered people's lives and properties.

Secondly, they and other unknown suspects gathered in a public place in an assembly of more than five people, with the purpose of disturbing public order, also using violence to achieve the purpose for which they gathered.

Thirdly, they acquired and had possession of "Molotov cocktails" for the purpose of using them to endanger people's lives as well as private and public properties.
