Contact Lost with Detainees Held at Jaw Prison

2017-09-18 - 4:04 am

Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): Families of detainees held at Central Jaw prison said that they had lost contact with their sons nine days ago, i.e. since the political prisoners began an open hunger strike to protest against dire prison conditions.

The prison authorities prevented the prisoners from outside communication in order to create a blackout obscuring the truth about the situation in the prison as the strike began.

The family of the detainee Hassan Asad confirmed that they had lost contact with him for more than 9 days, noting they received information saying that he had been transferred to solitary confinement.

Meanwhile, detainee Sayed Mohammed Sayed Saeed's mother said that had not been able to contact him for 10 days, also noting that she had not met him in person since 8 months ago.
