Bahrain Mirror: Minister of Education Majed Al-Nuaimi adopted measures for allocating scholarships and grants for the 2017-2018 scholastic year.
The minister said the graduates of public and private schools with 90% and above GPA received scholarships within the adopted competition standards.
The Ministry of Education allotted 60% of the standards for distributing the scholarships to personal interviews. Meanwhile, students complained that the interview is but a game to give the scholarships to pro-government students.
For his part, scholarships director Isa Al-Kooheji urged students who submitted for scholarships to log in to the ministry's website starting Thursday (July 10) until Wednesday (August 16) to know the grant or scholarship they received.
Civilian organizations have been demanding transparency in distributing the scholarships after hundreds of top-grade graduates were deprived of their right to receive education opportunities. However, the government turns blind eye to their demands.
