Court Upholds Life Sentence against Defendant over Stabbing his Friend until Death

Bahrain Mirror: The Supreme Court of Appeals upheld a life term verdict against a Bahraini who killed a citizen to take revenge for his cousin, who died in drug intake session with the killed man in Muharraq.

The Fifth High Criminal Court had sentenced the appellant to life imprisonment, ordered to refer the civil lawsuit to the competent court without expenses and ordered the confiscation of seized items.

A notice was received about the incident stating that the victim arrived to King Hamad Hospital with stabs in his body. The victim died after short time during attempts to save him. Another injured in the same case was admitted to the hospital and treated. According to the notice, investigations were carried out and led to the suspect. One of the suspect's friends said during investigations that the suspect's cousin died in a drug intake session with the victim and that the suspect and victim were friends. However, the suspect cut his relation with the victim believing the latter was the cause of his cousin's death.
