Appeals Court Sentences 2 Suspects to 3 Years in Prison over Assembling, Burning Car in Ras Rumman

Bahrain Mirror: The Supreme Court of Appeals presided over by judge Ibrahim Al-Zayed and memberships of judges Dia'a Al-Huraidi and Salah Rizk and Yousif Bu Hardan as secretariat upheld a verdict sentencing two appellants to 3 years in prison over assembling in Ras Rumman, burning car and bound them to pay 519 BD for the damages.

The Fourth High Criminal Court had sentenced the two appellants to 3 years in prison and sentenced the third suspect to 5 years in prison and bound them to pay 519 BD for the damages.

The authorities claim that the suspects, along with other unknowns, 20 members, assembled in Ras Rumman, hurled Molotov against police patrol causing damages to cars and disrupting traffic. The first lieutenant's investigations led to the suspects who took part in the incidents. Asking the first suspect, he confessed taking part in the incident along with the other suspects.

The Public Prosecution accused the suspects of deliberately setting fire, on December 17, 2015, along with other unknowns, to a private car that would endanger people's lives and money, deliberately putting, along with other unknowns, the public transportation to danger after setting fire to movables following putting them on the public street, aiming at disrupting the transportation, as well as deliberately damaging a car owned by a commercial company. The prosecution accused the suspects, along with other unknowns, of assembling and acquiring Molotov.
