Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain extended on Wednesday (June 7, 2017) an invitation to United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to visit the country
Bahrain News Agency said that the Assistant Foreign Minister, Abdulla Al-Doseri met the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Prince Zeid Ra'ad Al-Hussein, at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, and "discussed ways to enhance bilateral work and means to benefit from the expertise and programmes carried out by the Commission."
The statement said "The Assistant Foreign Minister extended an official invitation to the High Commissioner for Human Rights to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to raise the level of cooperation in various areas, including technical support programme, capacity building and exchange of experiences."
Zeid welcomed in March a similar invitation extended by Representatives Council speaker Ahmed Al-Mulla, and said that the visit would have to tackle human rights and could not be mere "a photo opportunity".
