Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Fifth Minor Court presided over by judge Jassim Al-Ajlan and Thabet Al-Hayiki as a secretariat set May 25, 2017 as a date to issue its verdict in a case of a Bahraini (57 years) accused of insulting the judiciary through publishing voice messages on social media outlets in which he offended one of the judges.

The Public Prosecution accused the suspect of publicly insulting in 2016 and 2017 the judiciary authority through publishing audio and visual recordings that contain insulting expressions on social media outlets.

A notice was received by the president of the Supreme Judicial council stating that on April 5, 2017, a voice recording was circulated on one of the social media outlets that included insults to the judiciary authority.

The one who recorded the voice message was summoned and the prosecution confronted him with the recording that lasted for 14 min and 59 seconds. Thus, he admitted that he recorded it, published it along with other footages on "YouTube" and sent them via "WhatsApp". He said that he did so after he was convicted in 5 judicial cases. He went on to say that he appealed the 5 cases, however, the court of appeals rejected them. The recordings included abusive expressions that targeted one of the judges whom the suspect mentioned in name.
