Bahrain Mirror: The Supreme Court of Appeals upheld 3-month jail term issued against a father who attacked a policeman in a house raid carried out to arrest his son.

The court convicted the suspect because on April 28, 2015, he attacked the bodily integrity of the victim, member of the public security forces for performing his job, causing him the injuries mentioned in the medical report, noting that the attack did not hinder him from performing his personal works for more than 20 days.

The authorities claim that when a lieutenant in the ministry of interior headed to execute an arrest warrant issued against the accused's son and upon arriving to the said house, he entered but the suspect yelled at the police. The police told the suspect that he has a warrant from the public prosecution to bring his son. However, the suspect attacked the police who tried to calm him down. The suspect then tried to quarrel with the victim but the policemen could control him. The suspect pushed the police to the ground, causing him slight injuries in his left hand.

The court said that it sentenced the suspect with mercy due to the conditions of the case and the injuries caused to the policeman.
