Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received on Monday (April 10, 2017) the President of Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas, weeks before Bahrain receives an Israeli sports delegation.
Hamad bin Isa granted Mahmoud Abbas a Caliphate Medal for his serious efforts in the light of achieving just and inclusive peace in the region. The King reiterated his country's support to declaring an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.
On his part, Abbas rejected any kind of foreign interference in the Palestinian affairs.
Bahrain is up to host an Israeli sports team next month to take part in the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) Congress to be held in Bahrain. Malaysia had previously rejected to host this congress out of respect to the Palestinian people.
