Bahrain Mirror: The King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received today on Sunday (February 26, 2017) American Rabbi Marvin Hier. Dean and Founder of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, according to Bahrain News Agency (BNA).
Hamad bin Isa said Bahrain will continue to be the country of moderation, embracing all religions and doctrines as a closely-knit family open to the world.
For his part, Rabbi Hier stated that thanks to King Hamad, "Bahrain embraces all people without discrimination," according to BNA.
The ruling regime in Bahrain faces criticism from international organizations for its ongoing human rights abuses, practiced against the Shiite-majority in the country. These HR groups repeatedly call on the government in Bahrain to allow a larger representation of Shia citizens in state bodies as well as allow them to exercise their religious beliefs freely.
