Bahrain Mirror: The Supreme Court of Appeal amended the prison verdict issued against an appellant, from 7 years to 3 years, in a case linked to burning tires and planting a fake bomb in the Budaiya Street.

The Public Prosecution accused the defendant of deliberately burning tires, along with other unknown individuals, and other movables, and thus endangering people's lives and monies. It also claimed that the defendant, along with other, installed a fake bomb-like object for terrorist purposes.

Human rights organizations challenge the charges raised against political detainees, since they doubt the independence of the judiciary, whose members are assigned by royal decrees, and since it issues sentences based on confessions extracted under duress and evidence presented by secret investigations and anonymous witnesses.
