Bahrain Mirror: The High Appeals Court presided by judge Mohammad bin Ali Al Khalifa and Naji Abdullah as secretariat upheld stripping 5 appellants of their citizenships and a first-instance verdict issued against them. Meanwhile, it commuted a life-sentence against an appellant to 15 years only.

The high criminal court had convicted 8 suspects accused of collaborating with Iran, establishing a terrorist group and joining it, training to use weapons and explosives as well as importing arms and explosives through sea for a terrorist aim. The court issued life-term prisons against the suspects from the first till the sixth, 15-year jail term against the seventh and eighth suspects, revoked the citizenships of all of the suspects and ordered the confiscation of seized items.

The public prosecution accused that suspects that in 2013 and 2015, they provided a person working for Iran (a dead person, according to the prosecution) information about the movements of the security coast guard and their locations, so that they can smuggle weapons and explosives.

It also accused them of training to use weapons and explosives, aiming at committing terrorist crimes.
