Bahrain Mirror: Former Bahraini ambassador and member of the ruling Al Khalifa family, lawyer Haya Al Khalifa, took part in the "2016 Iran Risk Summit" organized by "United Against Nuclear Iran" organization, and held in the US city of New York.

It is noteworthy that Haya Al Khalifa agreed to take part in the conference held on Monday (September 19, 2016) at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, knowing that former "Israeli Minister", and "Israeli" Kadima Party Leader Tzipi Livni will attend.

The Bahraini lawyer did not only participate in the conference, but she also spoke with Livni seated next to her during the closing session held at 2:30 pm New York time, for a whole hour. During this session, Haya Al Khalifa claimed that "Iran is trying to transform Bahrain into an Islamic state".

Entitled "Ambassadors of Bahrain and UAE in the Arms of Livni: Iran is Our Enemy", an article by Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper criticized this participation, and believed what is happening is "public normalization with Israel".

The participation of former Bahraini and Emirati officials confirms that there is an approach to "normalize relations with Israel", which does not share any diplomatic relations with most Arab countries because of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Haya Al Khalifa is a Bahraini lawyer and a member of the ruling family (King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's cousin). She was a former Bahraini Ambassador to France, and was head of the 61st meeting of UN General Assembly.
