Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini security forces attacked demonstrators who staged a protest following a Ashura mourning procession in Nuwaidrat, south of the capital Manama on Saturday (October 24, 2015). Hundreds of mourners participated in the procession held under the slogan "At your beck and call O Hussein".

Mourners chanted calls like "Far from us is disgrace" and "We will only prostrate for God," on the occasion of Ashura, the day when Imam Hussein bin Ali (pbuh) was martyred in 61 H. Shiite Muslims commemorate this occasion every year in Bahrain by taking to the streets and staging processions to express their grief over this tragedy.

Clashes erupted in the village of Nuwaidrat after Security forces fired tear gas canisters and shotgun pellets to disperse protestors, who attempted to block roads to prevent the police from advancing further into the area.
