BHRS: 25 Peaceful Protests & 13 Arbitrary Arrests within Last Week of September

Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The Bahrain Human Rights Society (BHRS) said that it monitored 25 peaceful protests and more than 10 house raids, adding that 13 citizens were arbitrarily arrested within the last week of September.

It said in a statement that the monitored violations included "raids, arbitrary arrests, collective punishment, injuries and check points."

As for the raids, BHRS explained that they took place in (Nuwaidrat, Karzakan, Al-Diraz, Juffair, Al-Dair and Muharraq). It further stated that it recorded 25 peaceful protests in each of (Sitra, Abu Saiba, Shakura, Al-Daih, Al-Maameer, Northern Sehla, Karbabad, Al-Ekr, Shahrakan, Buri, A'ali, Sadad, Bilad Al-Qadeem, Al-Musalla, Eskan Jidhafs, Al-Maqsha, Al-Dirza, Tubli and Al-Malikya)

It also said that the 32 solidarity sit-ins were held in each of (Eskan Salmabad, Al-Musalla, Eskan Jidhafs, Al-Ekr, Buri, Eskan A'ali, Karzakan, Sitra, Southern Sehla, Northern Sehla, Al-Daih, Hamad Town, Bilad Al-Qadeem, Al-Sanabis, Al-Markh, Al-Maqsha, Al-Qadam. Tubli, Al-Naim, Sadad, Damistan, Maqaba, Al-Ma'ameer, Abu Saiba, Shakoura, Karana and Bani Jamra).

Concerning collective repression, BHRS said that it recorded over 6 cases in which the security forces used tear gas, shotgun pellets and sound bombs, leaving 4 peaceful protestors injured. It added that it monitored one checkpoint in Hamad Town.
