Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Terror Crime Prosecution linked the arrest of former Member of Parliament and member of Al-Wefaq bloc Sheikh Hassan Isa to the suspects in Sitra bombing which left two policemen killed, claiming that he (Sheikh Isa) confessed "to providing the suspects with money regularly while aware that they are wanted by security authorities."

The Terror Crime Prosecution's Attorney-General Ahmad Al-Hammadi said that "the public prosecution began investigating the police bus bombing incident in Sitra that left two policemen dead and a number of others injured, immediately after announcing it on 28/07/2015. The prosecution carried out the necessary inspections at the crime scene and assigned forensic experts to examine the dead bodies and injured as well. It also ordered that all evidence be removed from the bombing site and examined by experts to determine the nature of the bomb used, its components and explosive range."

"Upon the prosecution's request to conduct police investigations regarding the circumstances of the incident and the perpetrators of the crime, the investigations have led to the identification of the perpetrators of the crime who formed a terrorist group that planned to target security forces and kill its officers. To carry out their plan, they monitored police patrol movements and decided to target the police vehicle at the site of the incident. They specified the site and planted a bomb there. They were able to acquire the explosives through one of the suspects located in Iran and other sources in Bahrain and then managed to execute the crime to fulfill their terrorist aims. It was proven that one of the suspects received training in Iraq in coordination with some suspects inside and outside Bahrain on bomb-making and handling arms and explosives." Al-Hammadi added.

"Five suspects involved in this crime were taken into custody and some of their hideouts where they used to gather and store weapons and explosives were searched. A prepared bomb, two remote controls and two home-made weapons were confiscated. The prosecution interrogated the detained suspects in accordance with the provisions of the law and in presence of a lawyer and brought against them charges of murder, attempted deliberate homicide, establishing a terrorist group and joining it, causing an explosion for terrorist purposes, receiving training on weapons and explosives handling, possessing and obtaining arms and explosives and possessing and making bombs," he further stated.

Al-Hammadi concluded his statement by saying: "The investigations also revealed that another suspect, a member of a political society (Sheikh Hassan Isa), is involved in fundraising inside and outside the country and funding terrorist groups with the collected money, including the group that committed this act. This suspect was arrested and the prosecution began questioning him on 23/08/2015 and as the rest of the suspects he was given all his rights in accordance to the law. He refused to have a lawyer present and confessed to providing some suspects with funds in a semi-regular fashion, while aware that the suspects are wanted by the authorities, so the prosecution ordered to keep the suspect under provisional detention pending investigation, to speed up the arrest of the remaining suspects and expedite the issuance of technical reports."
