BHRS: 102 Protests and 20 Arrests within the Second Week of July

Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The Bahrain Human Rights Society (BHRS) said that it monitored 20 arrests among citizens, including prominent opposition leader Ebrahim Sharif and two children, within the second week of July 2015.
The society highlighted in its weekly report that 32 house raids took place, while 102 peaceful protests were recorded. Some of these protests were subjected to a mass crackdown that included 9 areas in Bahrain. More than 18 crackdowns were recorded. Security forces used tear gas and shotguns during the crackdown on demonstrations.
BHRS added that peaceful protestors in Sitra Island, Buri and Wadyan were injured and cases of suffocation among citizens were reported as a result of toxic gases, tear gas, shotgun pellets fired inside the houses of citizens or near them.
According to its statement, BHRS concluded that it managed to monitor five rallies held in solidarity with detainees, calling for their release. These rallies were held in Bahrain's Jidhafs, Ras Rumman, Adhari, Salmabad and Malkiya.
