Bahrain’s Interior Minister: Our Duty Is to Protect Places of Worship

Bahrain Mirror: Reports said that Bahrain's Interior Minister Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received representatives of the General Authority for Hussainya Processions (on Sunday 31, 2015) to discuss how to provide the protection of places of worship and gatherings on religious occasions, including the eve of 15th of Shaban (lunar month) occasion.
The reports also said that it was agreed that vehicles are banned to enter the Bahraini capital, Manama, after the call to prayer at sunset, as well as park in crowded areas or areas where religious processions are staged.
During the meeting, they urged that it is necessary to close all women halls in mosques and Hussainyas as a precautionary measure.
This as the interior minister, during his meeting with the Chairman of Jaffary Endowment Shaikh Mohsen Khalaf Al Asfoor, along with Reverend Hani Aziz of Bahrain's National Evangelical Church, stressed that it is the ministry's "duty to protect places of worship and counter anyone who attempts to threaten people's lives," adding that: "we will do everything required of us, which is the responsibility that the general security assumes."
