Bahrain Mirror: The Supreme Court of Appeals, presided over by Judge Isa Al-Kaabi, and Nawaf Khalfan as Secretariat, upheld on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 the death sentences of the two youths, Mohammed Ramadan and Hussein Ali Moussa, after being convicted of killing a policeman in Dair village.

The fourth criminal court presided over by Judge Ali Khalifa Al-Dhahrani sentenced the first two suspects (Mohammed Ramadan and Hussein Ali Moussa) to death on December 29, 2014 and the third to life imprisonment. Nine others (suspects from 4 to 12) were each sentenced to six years in prison and fined 1000 BD after being convicted of being involved in the bombing that took place on February 14, 2014, which the authorities claim led to the death of policeman Abdulwahed Sayyed Mohammed Faqir.
Human rights organizations challenged the charges raised against the suspects since they doubt the independence of the judiciary,

whose members are assigned by royal decrees, and since it issues sentences based on confessions extracted under duress and evidence presented by secret investigations and anonymous witnesses.
