Bahrain Mirror: Social media networks reported on Friday, May 22, 2015, the detonation of an explosion in Imam Ali mosque, in the Shiite village of al-Qadeeh in KSA.
Locals, according to Reuters, confirmed that the explosive resulted from a suicide bomber who detonated explosive materials in the mosque during Friday prayer. They estimated that there were at least 30 casualties in the attack, where more than 150 people were praying, added the agency.
"We were doing the first part of the prayers when we heard the blast," Jamal Jaafar Hassan, one of the worshippers, said in a phone call from the explosion location.
The Saudi ministry of interior said, "the Saudi security parties issued a statement after Friday prayer that a blast had occurred at a mosque in the village of al-Qadeeh in Al-Qatif," without adding more details.
This attack is considered that second of kind against the minority Shiites in KSA, after the armed attack on a hussainia for Shiites in Al-Daloua, Al-Ihsaa, on November 3, 2014.
