Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): A Bahraini court on Thursday (May 14, 2015) ruled that two Shiites be expelled from the country, after stripping them of their citizenships (on January 31, 2015) along with 72 others, who most of them are Shiite dissents.
The court decided to expel a Shiite cleric, Sheikh Mohammad Khojasteh, and the Academic Masoud Jahormi from the country, also fining them 100 dinars. It accused them of violating residency laws following the withdrawal of their nationalities.
Bahraini authorities are launching an unprecedented campaign aimed at stripping Shiite dissents of their citizenships. They have revoked at least 100 nationalities of opposition supporters since the beginning of the February 14 uprising which sought to put an end to the rule of the Al Khalifa family.
