Bahrain Mirror: The Parliament has accepted that his MPs pension reaches 4000 Dinars and it refused the proposed amendments regarding raising the said number.
However, the Parliament addressed another issue concerning the supplementary MPs who stood for elections after Al-Wefaq's MPs had resigned in 2011 due to the eruption of protests in Bahrain during which thousands of citizens were killed. Isa Al Kooheji called for, "rewarding the MPs who stood for the supplementary elections and endured the pressures for the sake of Bahrain. Those MPs have to be honored, including me."
Meanwhile, the MP Abdullah bin Huwail said, "I hope that Bahraini won't forget the terrorism of the criminal Al-Wefaq group."The supplementary MPs" were insulted and some are still being terrorized by A-Wefaq, and some can't even afford their livelihood now."
However, the President of the Council of Representatives Ahmed Al Mulla answered him saying, "The word (criminal) will be erased".
For his part, the Minister of Finance, Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, stated, "I believe that at this time we suffer from low income as a result of the decrease in oil prices. Although it is good to consider the supplementary MPs, we have to monitor the total expenditure," referring to the government's refusal to allow the supplementary MPs to retire.
The MPs approved during discussions to adjudicate a pension for the supplementary MPs after they had bought for year on their own expenses.
Nonetheless, Mohammed Milad, the MP commented, "A date for retroactivity has to be specified. How can the government allow retroactive pay for MPs of 2011 and then deprive the MPs of political societies of them? Where is the principle of equality?" This made the MPs vote for referring the article of " specifying the period of time of retroactive pay" to a committee for further study.
