Bahrain Mirror: The Fourth High Criminal Court, presided by Judge Ali bin Khalifa Al-Dhahrani, membership of Jamal Awad and Hamad bin Salman Al Khalifa and Secretary Ahmed Al-Sulaiman, decided to renew the detention of the founder and blogger of "Resistant Media" website for 15 days pending investigations.
The authorities claim that the cybercrime department received information indicating that an anonymous person had used accounts known as "the Resistant Media" on social networks. These accounts were monitored since being established in 2011, which their moderator used to post articles including calls for marching protests and
demonstrations. He also called for "civil disobedience". The authorities also charge him with insulting the king and government figures. He moreover created applications on smart phones that, "expose the movements of the security men and incite hatred against them." In addition, he created another application to the smart phones under the name of "14th of February Coalition".
Through the investigations conducted by the department's electronic devices, they could reach to the accused and know his home address. Based on these investigations, the department obtained permission from the Public Prosecution to search the accused and his home.
The authorities say that it could reach the accused through the investigations. They raided his home and found two large computers, a laptop, two Internet devices, a number of phones, a hard disk, cameras and memory card.
According to the authorities, the accused, born in 1985, is unemployed. He confessed at the Public Prosecution that he created that first account "the Resistant Media" on Facebook after the 2011 events and that he created another account on Twitter using the same name. After a while, he bought an application from Google for 10 BD and created applications for the smart phones through it.
It is said that the Fourth Criminal Court was established in June 2013 to consider the large number of cases raised against the protestors and activist and speed up the strict provisions against them under the Terrorism Act.
