The fight against the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is the number one concern in all countries, and all world leaders have declared that the frontliners protecting humanity are doctors and nurses, except for the King of Bahrain.

There is no more need to convince anyone of the Bahraini ruling family's discriminatory behavior towards the Shiite community, as the suffering of stranded Bahraini citizens in the Iranian city of Mashhad, who amount to more than 1,000, has caused a major scandal.

Since a week ago, Bahrainis have been witnessing a gradual rise in the prices of fruits and vegetables, and in some cases they increased 10 times more than normal prices.

The Bahraini authorities have evacuated 31 citizens stranded in Iran, who went at their own expense to Qatar, trying to return to the country on multiple flights.

Bahrainis are outraged at Gulf Air which cancelled its flight GF563 and refrained from transporting Bahrainis returning from the Iranian city of Mashhad. This was especially frustrating to Bahrainis since the airline admitted that it took the decision on March 27, 2020 to cancel the scheduled flight from Muscat Airport after it was revealed that there were a large number of registered passengers arriving from Iran via Doha Airport.

Oman Airports said in a statement that the Gulf Air violated international travel regulations after it rejected to return stranded Bahrainis despite meeting all the conditions.

76 citizens stranded in Iran for over a month arrived on Saturday (March 28, 2020) in Bahrain through Oman Salam Air, after Gulf Air refused to return them from Muscat.

The Bahraini National Communication Centre (NCC) confirmed that the Bahraini authorities arranged an evacuation flight for the 31 citizens stranded in Doha. The citizens are to be evacuated on Sunday (March 29, 2020).

The government of Qatar decided to host the 31 Bahrainis who were stranded in Iran and wanted to return home, after the Bahraini authorities refused to receive them.

Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said that the recent releases of a number of political prisoners in Bahrain, although a small number, are a step towards rationality and a reconsideration of the existing political trend, which has led to a deterioration of the general situation and a lack of national consensus.

Activists announced the death of Mulla Mohsen Jouma'a Al Jadid (from Al-Salihiya). Mulla Mohsen is among the Bahrainis stranded in Mashhad whom the Bahraini government delay to evacuate.

The Qatari authorities prevented on Saturday (March 28, 2020) 31 Bahrainis from travelling to Oman on a Qatari flight, based on sultanate of Oman's instructions.

Waleed Khalifa Al-Manea, undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, announced that they are coordinating with brothers in Sultanate of Oman to arrange a flight on a chartered plane to evacuate citizens in Muscat who came from Iran via Doha.

Muscat Airport Security ordered on (Friday, March 27, 2020) the return of 76 Bahrainis to the Iranian city of Mashhad via Doha after the Bahraini authorities refused to receive them.

76 of the Bahrainis stranded in Mashhad left for Tehran, then to Doha and Muscat, on their way back to Bahrain. At 11:20 a.m. and in front of the gate for boarding the plane, passengers were surprised that the flight was delayed. After 45 minutes, they were told that the flight had been cancelled without explanation.

Bahrain is sinking deeper into a very difficult economic situation day after another. Since the beginning of this year, the Institute of International Finance (IIF) has said that Bahrain is in danger after its public debt exceeded 13 billion of the GDP, with a public debt amounting to 100.19% of GDP.

The global coronavirus epidemic, particularly ravaging in Europe, seems to have unexpected impacts. Bahrain received a heavy blow yesterday, with the Italian energy group ENI announcing that it will review its projects in the Middle East due to the Coronavirus pandemic and falling oil prices.
